      About Menus

A menu displays a list of commands. There are two types of menus: pull-down and pop-up. The former is commonly used in the menu bar, which is normally docked at the top of the main application window. The later appears in response to a mouse right-click over a window.

A menu command can have an assigned icon so that the user can better distinguish the command from other ones. The command can also have an assigned hot-key combination for easier access with the keyboard. For example, command Import from File is assigned a CTRL-O, which opens a file open dialog to allow you to select a file for importing data into the application.

Finally, a menu item can open up other menu (the sub menu) instead of executing a particular command.

You can customize the menus through the Customize dialog.
