Dear All, Please help;

I have a list of userid that I need to search for more information about them using a single search i.e using

ldapsearch -h emalonldp000 "uid=mdeom002" uid

output

CN=Maximus Deomus,OU=FR,OU=ABAS,O=SiO
uid=maximus.deomus@fr.SiO.com
uid=mdeom002

Now I have about 300 users (uid) I want to search, all users are stored in a input file to be used and I have written a batch to repeat the process and send the result to a .txt file

But ldapsearch is not working as below

ldapsearch -h emeaservldp000 -f inputfile.txt

content of my inputfile.txt

uid=mdeom002
uid=mgargia018
uid=ltchuoan011
uid=lparkouda001
uid=jrobinson031

Please what is the correct syntax

the result I am getting is

ldap_search( base=, scope=2, filter=áÀu, attrs=ALL, attrsonly=0) failed, error
: resultCode 87 (Bad search filter)

You have to specify the filter pattern to complete the filter.

ldapsearch -LLL -h emalonldp000 %s -f inputfile.txt

The result of this command line is:

# filter: uid=mdeom002

for each line is your file
After the input file you can specify the attributes you want to have (e.g. givenName or sn) but it is optional.

You can download the OpenLDAP for Windows package to perform this search request. In Userbooster the syntax is a bit different.

There was in combination of all command line options a bug found and it is fixed now. Please use the latest version in terms of OpenLDAP for Windows.
